Today is the day for sure she thought, as she grabbed all her stuff out of her bike and rushed up towards the stairs. All these days, she had been bored, unenthusiastic and miserable with her ballooning body. “I am going to sign up for the personal trainer, work out at least for two hours every day and eat so well, that everyone around me is going to be astounded!” Bah, she started running towards the first flight of stairs and as she reached the second, her body automatically slowed the pace. “Damn, just a matter of time and I will be running like a supersonic machine.” Third set of stairs and she was breathless and eased into a heaving, sighing climb.
As she reached the glass doors of her gym, she passed a very good-looking man who didn’t even bat an eyelid as he passed her! Now that was rude, she thought, just wait for a couple of months and she would have lost 20 kilos and be a hot ‘mama.’ “Where did I pick up that word, must be from the TV show, Girlfriends” Her mind ran through all the characters on that show and she couldn’t help observing how nice each of them looked. I wish and her thoughts trailed…
She met Joseph at the front-desk and gave him her half-hearted smile, “Priya, where have you been for so long? I was missing you man. Don’t be so inconsiderate to small people like me.” “Yeah, yeah, small people.” She always hated the way Joseph treated her like a small child, I need these guys to respect me and I can do it only if I lose all my excess fat and get lean and toned. The thought of her made her smile and she looked up the schedule for personal training. “Now, why are you looking at it?” “Joseph, I need to register for a trainer starting today.” “Oh Priya, all these trainers are booked well in advance and I can get you a trainer starting next week as I have a client moving to Delhi.” Priya was desperate to start today and would hate to push off her enthusiasm for another week. “Joseph, come on, I am requesting you. I see an empty spot for Nancy; you can assign that to me.” (...Continued)
