1) it would be difficult to automate making a custom burrito (to almost impossible). No other restaurant automates food and cooking recipes prep that I am aware of ….taco bell, McDonald’s……

2) I agree that illegals should not be allowed to work in the US. I do feel the State Department has to improve the speed in which it grants work visa so people can work in the US legally and it does not take a year or more to get that visa.

3) You miss the entire customer service part of eating….even in a fast food restaurant. Reread the article … People were unhappy about the speed of making the food but there is also a sense of missing the people that had been making their food.

I have a Chipotle across the street from one of my businesses. The entire staff has changed in the last 3 months. I suspect it is because of the status of the employees (I live in GA).

The new staff is largely younger, black and are learning the new job. They will get it soon. I suspect most of these folks are in their first job. I will cut them a LOT of slack while they learn the value of working…. and hopefully the value of education as a part of getting ahead…..but someone needs to take on the low wage labor intensive jobs…
