Set up camp and then hit the trails

The central north island has always been a favorite destination when we go on our mountain biking adventure weekends so we are heading there again this time. We usually base ourselves at the lake taupo motel and then head off to various spots around the central plateau. With the area having such varied terrain and scenery it makes for the ideal place to hit the tracks. Not only is the riding itself usually challenging and fun, the views you get are nothing less than amazing, especially on the high trail rides. Our rides do tend to take a little longer than expected though as we often stop to take photos.
